First off a little backround. I am new to cruising in the minds of "Seasoned Cruisers" as this is only my second of many cruises and was my brothers first. My first was on the Majesty of the Seas with Royal.

Pre-Cruise: We flew into Miami from Boston the night before the Cruise. Flight was non eventfull(flew American Airlines). We booked a room at the Embassy Suites Miami Airport. The hotel was great with a two room suite with two flat screen tvs, FREE managers reception with FREE drinks. Yes free alcohol drinks. I took full advantage of this as well as the free full breakfast. Not just toast bagels and fruit but eggs bacon corned beef hash etc. Great for the value which was once again, what was that word... oh ya FREE!! We booked transportation through the hotel for 10pp that picked us up at either 10 11 or 12. We picked the 11:00 am pick up soooo....

Cruise Day 1: Right at 11 am the van showed up and picked us up as well as about 20 other people. Most going on the carnival ship. The driver for some reason did not go the highway but rather through down town which then took almost 30 minutes to get to the port. I could tell we were getting near when we took a turn and what was that peeking above some buildings but my home for the next 4 days the Navigator of the Seas!!!!!!

Got to the port gave the porters my bags and off to check in we went. What a breeze. From the time my butt got out of the van to getting the welcome aboard took all of about 20 minutes. It took longer to find a pen to fill out the health questions than to do the whole process. After picking up my jaw in awe of the beauty and size of the ship went and got my first drink of many many drinks. The promonade was beautiful, metropolis theatre, studioB all were awesome. After exploring the ship for a bit made our way to the windjammer for lunch. Not really sure why everyone complains about the food there but people its a buffet not the ritz. I personally thought the food was excellent although really do not get the fuss about the honey chicken. Dont get me wrong I thought it was good just not great. What I did think was great were the short ribs. They were cooked perfectly and very meaty. Jade had this lamb dish that was great everyting else was great to excellent. And they had my favorite desert strawberry cheese cake. After luch went to our room which was ready about 1:15 about 15 minutes early than the scheduled 1:30 which was nice but as expected luggage was not there. Went to the pool deck and solarium and got more drinks just waiting for sailaway. We went to the helipad to wait for sailaway and then the lovely loud horn sounded and off we went. The offical start to the cruise. That night just ate at windjammer explored the ship some more and hit the casino for a fun filled and winning night. I played some three card poker for a bit then played some slots. After more drinks made it to my room around 1am to call it a day.....

Day 2 Sea day:I did not know what to expect of a sea day as on my only other cruise there was none I loved it. I took my book to the pool to read and have a few drinks and made some observations: There were plenty of chairs for everyone no chair hogs at all. There was alot of, in my opinion security that were clearly marked and at the pool decks all cruise long. After reading for a bit met up with my brother and off to the windjammer to have lunch. Showered got into my suit (which went to the ships laundry and came back at 5:30) and off to the casino and then dinner in the MDR. I want to give kudos to my wait staff Renhaldo and Fernando. (miss spelled). They were awesome. Very friendly attentive and let us know what was good to excellent. For starters I had the ceasar salad and escargot which I never had and most likely would get again. I picked the Filet of beef for my entree as did our whole table. (only two other friends showed up the entire cruise). WOW was the meal excellent. The meat was so tender you could cut it with your fork. It was so good we all decided to skip desert and order another beef. After dinner got changed and once again went to the casino to,well, gamble and have a few drinks. Did not do so well this night but still had a blast. After donating my money to the casino met up with my brother to check out the Ice show. This show was awesome. With the space the skaters were given they did everything they would have with a full size rink. Totally lived up to the hype. After the show went to the sailaway parade then to the karaoke then went to bed for preperation for day 3 Cozumel.
