Handicapped Parking Charleston Port

I posted earlier that I was told by a pax that Charleston has free handicapped parking at the port. I think I was misinformed. Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of this? Thanks. Thinking of booking 4/9, last minute.

Yes, I found this on the SCSPA's website:

 

"Complimentary storage is provided at no fee for vehicles displaying a valid handicap placard or license plate with ID."

We just got off of the 3/8 sailing and yes we parked "free" for the duration of the cruise. When you come to the gate to pay, they wave you thru if you have your handicap sticker visable. Great perk!!

My neighbor just parked at this port. He had to show his cruise tickets with his name and the registration of the vehicle in his name. He asked if he had a hang tag instead of the license plates what would he need.( He also uses a hang tag for another vehicle) They said just the registration for that hang tag and his cruise documents.

They just want to be sure it is not a borrowed placard to get out of the parking fee.
