Free drinks in the Casino on the Jewel??

Last year we sailed both the Gem and the Dawn. On the Gem we received free drinks when playing. On the Dawn...no good. Any clue about the Jewel ??

 

And do they do the Pub Crawl on the Jewel ? Did that on the Dawn and had an awesome time !!

If you book through CAS, you should have a drink card waiting for you in your cabin. On the Jewel cruise we were on this month there were 2 Pub Crawls.

They have tried free drinks in the casino over the years, various ways. Lately it seems they are not doing it, unless you are already booked through CAS as a guest. After you play a fair amount, you may earn the "card" to get free drinks.

Yes, forgot about earning the card. It was 1,500 points or $7,500 coin in this month on the Jewel. OBC comps started at 2,500 points.

sailed her in February, 1st time with Norwegian, joined CAS, had 2800 points by cruise end.

Did get a drink card on the last day of cruise, don't know if I could have received it earlier.

We are sailing again in August, and 'am interested to see what happens then. Have read on other posts, if you are a big gambler , 5 figures, they treat you fairly well.

Yes book with Casinos at Sea and you will get the drink card in your cabin - but don't expect too much comp - it was insulting with the amount of play we had.

 

We told them to keep it. Lets hope we see something good the next time we book - i.e. upgraded cabin etc.

Got it... thanks..... just one other piece of info... When I was on the Dawn there was a head guy walking around the floor. He always greeted us when we came in. I always played craps and he knew it. He offered me a beer, which I could not hurt his feelings so I accepted :D. I gave him a tip during the night and for the rest of the cruise, he always had a beer coming my way when I needed one. I also tipped him again at the end of our cruise. I do not remember his name but he was great and helped make our cruise unforgettable.

When we were on the Jewel (Baltic) in 2008, we did receive free drinks in the casino - may have changed by now, though.

I play poker and every night they would buy a drink for the table (it was the same people for the most part every night)

 

There are 2 hosts on the Jewel - they will buy the drinks etc. - find out who they are and they may take care of you if you tip them -

 

We found they were stingy with the comp and were insulted by the end of it. We told them to keep it. We got comped a really well on the Jade - but not on the Jewel.

We were on Jewel the week before you and had no problems getting free drinks. The servers got to know us after the first day and we usually had new drinks before we were done with the one we were drinking. We tipped well and received very good service. We are slots players, and we thought the OBC given at the end of the cruise was fair, and we also got comped our next cruise from our play. We are hooked on NCL now!

Awesome... that is pretty much how the Gem worked.... once you tipped the right guy, the drinks flowed. Its a win win. Now I just have to win on the crap table :D

When on the Jewel, we had an amazing time. The drinks were comped on our drink card, and I tipped the waiters well...I just could never find them. I was disappointed with that.

 

As for the comp part - my husband played Baccarat every night - for quite awhile - they offered $32 in comp- on the Jade it was hundreds over that - now this was a one week cruise vs a 2 week cruise - but it should have been more than $32. -

 

We did get a free cabin and we upgraded on the Jewel from the play on the Jade - we haven't booked another cruise yet so I guesss we will see.

 

We don't play for comp ever - that is how you lose money - however, it would be nice to see more than $32...
