Using World Points for OBC

I was curious if anyone who has redeemed World Points for Onboard Credits could tell me if when you did that you were able to actually "see" that credit some where before you cruised. Like were you able to see the credit on your EDOC's, etc? I know when we have been given OBC by NCL we could see it on our EDOC's but not for sure about when redeemed through World Points. We cashed in points for $250.00 OBC and since we did that last time and got onboard and they never showed up on the ships system I am a little be cautious. 8-)

We cashed in points for the Casino credit (I know you had some problems with this). We has booked through CAS. After we redeemed the points, I got an updated invoice from CAS and up in the right had corner under the cabin number, it listed the code for the redeption item. This was the only thing I received other than the e-mail from BOA.

Hope it works out for you this time. Enjoy your cruise!

I"ve cashed in for OBC a few times already, and receive an email confirmation (that I print and bring along) before I hang up with the rep at NCL who does the OBC for Worldpoints.

I'm ready to cash in another $250 for our April cruise next week.

I did have 1 rep have a very hard time using points from 2 different accounts to apply 2 OBC's for the same reservation. So, I told her to give up and just apply it to one of our other reservations when she started getting frustrated. :)

Hi Terry

We redeemed world points for a $250 OBC a couple months back. When we finished talking to the lady at NCL she happened to mention that it would appear on our confirmation now, so I asked her to email us a new copy of it. She did so and just beneath the invoice totals it now says: WorldPoints Add-ons: 1 World Points $250 On-Board Credit Certificate

Cool, eh?

I can confirm with Monte. Our confirmation for 5/22 on POA shows the WorldPoints Add-ons: as well.

Hi ...I will be on the Jewel 6/19 . Can someone tell me what CAS is ? Also how many World Points do you need to get a OBC. Can this credit be used for anything onboard?

Thanks

Hey JewlzC.. CAS is for Casino at Seas. That is NCL's casino rewards program, which, by the way, is the best of all the cruiselines. If you are a past guest of NCL's and you played in their casino with a players club card you can contact CAS at NCL and they will see if you are elligible for a discount on a future cruise or even a comp'ed cruise. Also, if you play in the casino with a players club card, at the end of the cruise if you meet a minimum number of points, you can cash those points in for credit towards your onboard expenses.

As far as the World Points, I believe we cashed in 25000 points for $250.00 of OBC. You can do that in increments of $50.00 I believe, starting with 5000 points for $50.00 onboard credit and go up from there.

  • 3 months later...

I just want to make sure before I do this ...

Can I cash in the points I have now and apply it for a discount off of my cruise price, and then when it is time for the cruise and I have enough points, can I cash in again and use it for an OBC this time?

I know money is money and it is really silly, but I will have a different mental state about spending money on board if I have an OBC than if I simply lower my cost of the cruise.
