LynnAnne Posted March 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2010 Hi, Husband and I thinking of doing a back to back cruise on the Liberty in Jan. Are there any price breaks on a back to back?? Has anyone done this and was board?? ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted March 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2010 Your price break is that you only have to pay for airfare one time. Carnival treats each leg of the b2b as its own cruise( you have different booking numbers for each). No discount for doing a b2b.

We did a back to back last year on The Conquest. I cant say whether or not you get a price break because we did one leg through Crucon and the other through Carnival. As for being bored, well you will have seen all of the shows the first week so you will have your evenings free the second week to explore other things. I never really was bored but I can say that I was ready to get off the ship after the second week. That is not the feeling I have after only 7 days. :p:D I hope yall have a great trip. Where are yall going and on what ship?
ManyMore Posted March 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2010 If you are concerned about being bored you could concider a shorter back to back for your first time. You could do a 4 and 5 like we did or perhaps a 7 and a 4 at a port that has a ship that does that like New Orleans and the Triumph.
SunniLicious Posted March 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2010 Do you have to pack up your luggage and disembark the ship? If that's the case, and if you're worried about boredom, you could find a busier port and actually change ships if you can find two that turn around on the same day. cruisinbuddy Posted March 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2010 You don't need to "pack" up everything and leave the ship just to get back on, btw it only takes 10 minutes. Make sure you can get the same cabin for both legs, and then make sure you tell your room steward that you're sailing again. We used the turn around day to do laundry. You will be the happiest people on board that morning.
rwilli01 Posted March 28, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2010 We are doing our first b2b this May, If we choose can we get off a few hours at the home port and then board later that day? We are sailing out of Galveston and will have our car there since we are driving. Would like to go do a few things while in port. Does carnival allow for this? Dont mean to highjack this thread so If I am i am sorry. Kay
ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted March 28, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 28, 2010 You can get off and use turn around day as a port of call. I believe you will have to wait and get off the ship with the rest of the b2b'ers.
Fun, Fun 44 Posted March 28, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 28, 2010 Never bored on b2b! Don't have to cook, clean, decide what's to fix and plan ahead. ;) Just be sure to have the same cabin. While everyone else to running around packing, you are relaxed and still enjoying. :) Longest we have done b2b is 10 days. We could have stayed a few more days but was ok with getting off and going home. I really hate getting off and really wanting more! lol It's a fun experience. Go for it! southbayer Posted March 28, 2010 #10 Share Posted March 28, 2010 Has anyone ever done back to back but had different staterooms ? Any chance your luggage stays on board and put down in storage at least while you disembark ? Pro's / Con's ?? p.s. I know its best to get the same room, but it might not be possible. thanks

I know its best to get the same room, but it might not be possible. thanks We have done b2b with different staterooms. In that case, we always let our room steward know that we will be staying on board for a second week. We just have our luggage packed and ready to move to the next cabin. The purser/guest relations will advise you by letter of the time you need to meet to go through customs. This is usually after all the passengers have left the ship. Most times it is around 10-10:30 a.m. You are escorted off the ship through immigration and escorted back on the ship. It just takes a few minutes. Then the purser will issue your new Sail and Sign card. Your cabin steward will help you move the luggage to your new cabin. It is a very easy process.
