Coming from the UK I would probably opt for September. That way you would not run the risk of being stranded on the East coast because of weather. (notorious for airport delays because of bad weather in Dec, Jan & Feb) Temps in Sept will be around 65 at night and 80's during the day. (us degrees not European-- I do not know how to convert) You will Love Hawaii---
