Pub Lunch at Golden Lion, QV

I've been wondering, do meals at the Golden Lion pub on the QV cost extra? Is the pub open for dinner?

I think it is only for lunch, the meals are all free and QV also has desserts as well , unlike QM2, the pub layout is very good, just pop in and enjoy your meal.

 

I am sure they wont do dinner though

Food only at lunch time I'm afraid but it's all paid for!

Fish and chips with mushy peas and a pint of Mangers go down a treat!:D

They also do Shepherd Pie, bangers and mash and ploughman's.

I am with the understanding Golden Lion food is inclusive. Drinks are extra. Excellent fish and chips from what I understand.

The pub lunch is no charge ... only extra you have to pay for are drinks.

 

And the meal times are usually between 12N and 3pm; no food is served during the dinner hours.

The food aspect of a pub lunch at the Golden Lion on QV is free.

 

The Chicken Korma is superb - beautifully done. I had two in one setting, but then they are quite small.

You have to either go early or late as between 12 & one o'clock it is usually packed, unless you don't mind eating when seated on a bar stool.

 

The Bass Export on draught is excellent.

 

Miguel, who has run the bar on and off from the start, will serve you GLP Burgers, which he tells those who ask, stands for Gammon, Lettuce & Pumpkin. Work it out!

I'm sure the pub is open for lunch on port days as well.

I recall it was open on QM2 during a Carib sailing. Maybe it depends on the mgmt of that particular ship? :confused:
