We want to book tours but do not know which port is the best for snorkling... Can anyone share their snorkling experiences in any of these ports... Thanks in advance... Lori&Tony Posted February 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2005 Snorkeling is best in Cayman and then Cozumel in that order. I have used ERD before and Chellie is great. You should do snorkeling off of a boat here. Beaches do not lend themselves to good snorkeling. If you don't want to do ERD, you can go to Chankanaab park. Here there is a beach area and a rocky entrance. This is a great snorkeling spot. $12pp park fee. You just grab a cab to get there. In Cayman all you have to do is get off the tender pier, turn right and walk about 5 blocks and you'll get to the Eden Rock center (Abanks). Great snorkeling and it's FREE. If you've never been to Cayman before, you should also do a stingray tour. You can snorkel part of the day at Eden Rock and fill up the other part with the stingrays. At Eden Rock are both Abanks and Eden Rock Dive Centers. Some people prefer Eden Rock DC. http://caymanislandsdiscounts.com/AbanksDiveCenter.htm http://www.edenrockdive.com/ Weather can be more of a factor in GC compared to Cozumel. In Cozumel, Dzul Ha is usually mentioned as having the best shore snorkeling. Besides Eagle Ray in Cozumel I would also recommend Mayan Paradise Tours.
