Rare Tapi Posted April 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Hi! I'll be in NYC in the month of April, and I see that the Norwegian Dawn will be in port. Where's a good spot to watch cruise ships up close? THANKS!
greatam Posted April 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2010 Hi! I'll be in NYC in the month of April, and I see that the Norwegian Dawn will be in port. Where's a good spot to watch cruise ships up close? THANKS! Do you mean on the ground or from above?? On the ground, probably the Intrepid Museum or go to NJ. Or walk over to the piers. You can hang around outside and see the ship and what goes on. Won't be able to access much of the terminal building. You could DRIVE up on the rooftop parking, pay $30 and watch from there. The Hudson Bar has a great view but it only opens at 5PM, so the ship will most likely be gone by then. The Sky Terrace in the Hudson Hotel has a great view (you must be a Hudson Hotel guest). If you are a guest, you could watch all morning before you check out.
rakaia Posted April 8, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2010 Go over to NJ (Hoboken). There is a nice lounge/bar called Lua that is uptown in Hoboken. They have outdoor seating overlooking the river and it's fun to watch the cruise ships go by. You can also go to Weehawken which is more directly across the river from the actual terminal.
