Traveler353 Posted April 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2010 It can get showers any day and any time of the year in the Keys. January is usually really comfortable unless a cold front passes thru. Christmas morning 1995 I woke up with snow on my deck while docked at Key West Naval Air Station. I have also seen it in the high 80s in December and January. No one can predict the weather no matter how much they like to pretend that they can. Go, have fun and don't sweat the small stuff that you have no control over.:D
RoadTripFanatic Posted April 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2010 As the previous poster said it could be doing anything that day. There is no guarantee of warm weather that far "north" compared to the Caribbean. I would just book it! :) I will warn you the water will be cold! dan40 Posted April 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2010 End of jan key west and Bahamas what is the weather like? Rainy? Key west is all but in the warm waters of the Gulf Stream and the waters around KW are shallow and white sand bottoms. So the water is warm and the weather will usually be very nice. The Bahamas are well east of the warm Gulf Stream and are in the Atlantic Ocean. The water immediately surrounding the islands are shallow but the water around that is the Atlantic and runs to 6000 feet deep in places. So the Bahamas are mostly mild but can be chilly.
