yahootelemundo Posted April 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2010 Azamara Club Cruises to charge a $50-per-booking "administrative fee" to travelers who cancel their cruises, cruisetours or pre-/post-hotel packages 91 days or more prior to departure. That means that if you book your cruise a year in advance and then illness, a change in financial situation or even alternate travel plans force you to cancel your cruise months in advance, you will still be out $50. If you always thought you had until the final payment deadline to cancel without penalty, that rule no longer applies to Azamara

We have always lost our £150pp deposit if we cancel, and since June last year it has cost £75pp to change ship and/or cruise date. $50 is a steal. We would have had, as I recall, a $600.00pp cancellation fee in Antarctica with Abercrombie & Kent. They were using a Swan Hellenic Ship, Minerva. What I can't understand is not allowing you to transfer to a another cruise and not loose any deposit. Perhaps Azamara will consider that. The biggest issue for us booking over a year in advance is that we do not know the airfare. Even Azamara doesn't have the airfare yet when a year or more out, so it is sort of agreeing to a blank check as far as pricing. Once we book the air the trip is non-refundable as far as we are concerned.
