kayjay2_11 Posted April 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Hi, Am planning a cruise in 2011 on the Splendor. Can anyone tell me if the ocean view cabin windows/portholes open at all? Tried to do a search for a similar thread, but didn't find anything. Thanks!

monkeyates Posted April 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Hi,Am planning a cruise in 2011 on the Splendor. Can anyone tell me if the ocean view cabin windows/portholes open at all? Tried to do a search for a similar thread, but didn't find anything. Thanks! No they do not. These cabins are on the lowest decks of the ship. Advantage, less rocking motion of the ship. Disadvantage, engine noise. The OVs are nice in the fact that you get natural sunlight and a view. If you want fresh air, without paying balcony prices, some of the ships (not the Splendor) have cabins with french doors, but no balcony. The doors open to a vew of a life boat but you get fresh air, natural sunlight and some kind of view depending on the exact location of the room. These cabins are limited and I am not sure which ships have them, but if I am correct, they are listed as interior staterooms. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
