Sugar Free Margarita?

Oh, Rowan I really feel for you! I don't get migraines from food, by I do get migraines triggered by changes in the weather (and here in Illinois, we get a lot of high and low fronts) They are definitly no fun. As no the no sugar margaritas, you could try Diet Mountain Dew or Diet Sprite with the tequila. If you could find a diet strawberry soda, you could try that with tequila, too (kind of like a strawberry margarita).

Derf - thanks for those links.

I'm sitting here crying because I actually have a migraine coming on RIGHT NOW (monthly hormonally-induced migraine that I somehow ward off every other month, but not THIS month) and we're leaving for the Sensation in 3 hours. I have NO meds on hand due to a recent insurance problem, and I'm freaking out just a little. My last bad one put me in the ER.

For anyone who reads this post - shoot some good thoughts my way! I've been looking forward to this trip for 11 months and don't want to ruin it!

The gift shop sells Cruzan Rum. It is ALWAYS on sale for $25 for 4 bottles. Can't beat that. You can mix and match the flavors.

I blame this thread!!!! I have not had a migraine in 9 months and I had a bad one last night... In the past 2 years, I have only had 3!!! I took Depakote for a while but I thought I was cured so did not refill  . Drank a cup of Feverfew tea and took some magenesium and within 2 hours it had settled down and I was able to sleep... I also had a few sips of full blown coke (as aspartame IS a trigger)... it really depends on the type and trigger of your migraine, but caffeine is typically NOT a migraine trigger (it constricts the blood vessels)... but I'm sure it can cause problems if you have too much. I am fortunate that mine have gotten much better over the years and I do attribute that to the Depakote, but had some problems with that as well. I would say the diagnosis was almost as bad as the headaches! It took two spinals before they figured it out! FTLOG!!!!!! Thankfully, sugar has never been a trigger for me!!!!! I like my margaritas! My problem was always beans and luncheon meat! LMAO!!!!!!!!

An idea... you might want to bring along some tequila and the baja bobs mix and a blender.... then you can fix your own? The bobs mix is really icky to me, but in a pinch if you want a marg, it might work!!! Good luck and I hope you get a good fix for your headaches!

Vic, aspartame is a BIGGIE for migraines! Regular sugar doesn't bother me either... I generally have a little full blown coke when I feel one coming on and it CAN help... but I try to stay away from it when I can. ALTHOUGH, in the past few years, I have managed to drink diet coke without problems... but if I drink another type of "diet" drink, I can sometimes feel them coming on. They have no rhyme or reason sometimes... but aspartame is not a good thing to have all the time.... Try DietRite, which is made with Splenda, I have had no problems with that...
