How much does the carnival insurance cost and do you have to get it for each person? I'm assuming yes. Also how long do you have to purchase it? Thanks!

I was told you can purchase it up to 15 days before you sail. But you should check with your TA or PVP to make sure!!

The price varies. Call your PVP for specifics. I believe it must be purchased at least two weeks prior to sailing.

It's posted on the Web Page somewhere under Vacation Protection. It's based solely on the cost of the CruiseFare (not including Govt Fees and Taxes) and the premiums displayed are per person. You now have up to 14 days before cruise to purchase. If you cancel prior to Final Payment, the premium is refundable. If you purchase your airfare via Carnival, the airfare is covered at no added premium; Carnival claims that your independently purchased airfare is also covered, but I'd investigate that claim before relying on it.

 

Generally, you get lower premium and higher coverages with the several 3rd Party Policies available from companies like TravelInsured, TravelEx and CSA.
