RSSC or Save My Money?

So I've been looking at booking a short 4-night cruise aboard RSSC's Navigator of the Seas in December for roughly $1,200 per person. Certainly not a bad deal considering their reputation.

What's everyone's opinion on this one? Should I go ahead and book it, or save my money and spend the same amount or LESS for a cruise aboard X's M-class later in the season?

For $1,200 I could probably find an inside cabin on a 14 day cruise. I would rather cruise for two weeks than 4 days. Cruising on a Radisson ship would be a novelty, but I think the 4 days would be over in the blink of an eye and I would be sorry I didn't cruise for 14 days instead.

I for one would love to try RSSC. However I think I would save up a little more and go for 7 days. 4 would just be too short. We love to be pampered, and I think that the RSSC experience would be such a different one. I think we're going to wait a few more years though, since we still like to party a bit when on vacation. But I think it would be such a relaxing experience. I would go for the Paul Gaugan, in Tahiti!

Yeah -- I keep debating on what to do. For me, a 4-night cruise is perfectly long enough to be honest. There is also a 3-night one aboard the Diamond (the very awesome double-hull ship) for about $900 per person.

I'm also trying to decide if I'd like to go on the QM2 or QE2. These are a lot more than my typical vacations aboard Celebrity, NCL, PCL, HAL, etc., so it is a tough choice to make...but very tempting.

As far as RSSC goes, I am leaning towards saving my money and spending the same amount per person to sail aboard the M-class ships with Celebrity. I've been wanting for a very long time to sail aboard Millie herself and eat in the Olympic.

Who knows, though. :-)

If it were me...I couldn't be bothered to pack for a four day cruise, on ANY ship.

Just my opinion, and you did ask.

Yeah...I probably won't go...just so tempting to see what the "best of the best" is really like. :-)

I have sailed on both the Navigator and Mariner. Both are beautifule ships. Service and Food wise Celebrity is on a par with RSSC. The thing that makes RSSC great is they have smaller all suite ships and open seating. I have sailed six times on Celebrity and now is my first choice for value.

OK -- I officially made my decision following everyone's advice and speaking with my T/A who is a goddess.

I've decided to spend about $400 less and enjoy a 5-night cruise about the new Holland America Zuiderdam from Ft. Lauderdale.

Don't worry -- I'm still sailing with Celebrity in October and intend to return to sail on M-class in April/May of 2005. :-)

Thanks for the help everyone!
