sandian Posted April 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2010 Hi Thinking on a Cruise from Southampton to the Italian Med, but wondering what weather we can expect in May. We will be on the Independance so being one of the larger ships does that make an easier sail?.
Justcat44 Posted April 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2010 Hi Thinking on a Cruise from Southampton to the Italian Med, but wondering what weather we can expect in May. We will be on the Independance so being one of the larger ships does that make an easier sail?. Hi there We were on Indy In november last, and a thoroughly enjoyable time we had. On the way through the Bay, we experienced weather of Force 10/11, which was as Captain Remo said, the worst they had had.. We didnt suffer however. My advise, is take something with you, you may not need it though. You can obtain sea sickness pills on board from the medical suite.if needed. The ship is so big and so stable.... The Ice show on one occasion was put on hold becasue of the swell, and it was a good giggle trying to walk through the ship, without trying to look drunk lol! A wonderful time!!!. We are on board in May and so looking forward to going back... Enjoy your holiday!!
gingerpeaches Posted April 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2010 We were onboard in August 2009, and the Bay of Biscay crossing was rather cold and a bit rocky. No one was in the pool! Take something for motion sickness and pack a waterproof!
Justcat44 Posted April 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2010 Hi Vicky J and I didnt have a problem at all with the motion. did you? I think with the ship being so stable, and so big it wasnt a real worry at all. I recall the outside doors to deck closed for a couple of house one night but that was about it! Cant wait to go back!! sandian Posted April 18, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted April 18, 2010 Thanks for your answers I think we will manage to cope, it sounds like indy is well able to handle the swells.
