ilovhywd Posted April 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2010 On all the decks from Emerald to Aloha, there is a short hallway in the very back of the ship on both the port and starboard sides between the last regular cabins and the aft cabins. At the end of those hallways there is a door that leads to a gray area. Does anyone know what this is? Is it an emergency stairway? Does the crew use it? Thanks! BobT172 Posted April 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Can't say for sure but I think it is a storage/service area used by the cabin stewards.
caber Posted April 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2010 WE were in B748 on Crown which is the last aft cabin, located at the end of the little hallway on the plan. The door leads to an emergency stairway which was opened during muster practice.
Shifra Posted April 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Yes that is correct. It is a crew stairway which is also used during the muster drill and of course available in an emergency. I have had cabins near this area and it was always quiet.
BalconyGal Posted April 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Exactly right. Imagine my surprise when I opened the cabin door to head to the muster drill and a crew member scared the*snot* out of me by saying "Right this way".... Of course I was looking in the direction I thought I was going to go. Papa Bill Posted April 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 22, 2010 Thanks for the information. We just booked this cabin for the British Isle cruise in August. Any Photos of the cabin?
