Grand Princess Questions

I've read several posts regarding some refurbishments made just prior to the start of Galveston cruises in November. Please share anything you noticed that may have been fixed or "gussied up."

Also, I've read that the spa area is poorly designed with two saunas and two steamrooms by the Lotus pool labeled for "men" and "women" respectively, but used on a co-ed basis.

1) Is this an adult's only area?

2) Do you need to wear a bathing suit to use the sauna/steam?

3) Is this area outdoors?

4) Does the changing room have lockers and showers? (I've been told they are far away from the pool/sauna/steam area.)

Thanks for any feedback.

Two major changes: Movies Under the Stars has been added to the ship, and the casino has been remodeled to a certain extent. A live poker room was added to the casino. Carpets are new. The computer center has been moved from its former location on Deck 6 to the former card room on Deck 5, and three more terminals can be found in the library. I can't think of any other major changes.

During the wet dock in Galveston they also added a Captains Circle office and a Future Cruise office on level five. Most of the crew hung out at Wal-Mart during the down time. The wet dock was located near the cruise docks. They didn't have time to fix everything in wet dock because there was still a loud creaking noise in the ceiling of the Princess Theatre.

Thanks for the feedback spongerob and W0kie. I've only read positive things about the cosmetic updates. It sounds like they accomplished quite a bit in just a week of wet dock.

Can anyone out there shed light on my spa questions? Thanks.

From what I remember, the entrance to the sauna was outside, next to the Lotus pool; men on one side, women on the other. I think (not positive) that locker room entrances were right next to the saunas. I didn't go in, so I can't help you there. The pool area is adults only, except from noon to three, where they do allow children in the area. It is all outside (the sauna entrance was under an overhang area, though, so it was covered), and you can get to it two ways - walk outside on deck 16 and you'll come to the area, or walk through the main entrance to the spa on deck 15, walk inside past the main spa desk, and there'll be doors to take you outside to the pool.

Hope this helps!
