Car Rental in Kodiak

Is it best to rent a car or try to find a local guide, etc? We only have 6 hours in Kodiak.

We're going with Bonnie of Friday's Cab for 2.5 hours. $55.00 per hour per vehicle (not per person). She sounds very knowledgeable and is eager to show us around her town. Looking forward to it!

We are using Bonnie of Fridays Taxi as well But unfortunately not with AIP as we are on the next 14 night cruise from hers.She is very willing to accomadate us with whatever we want to see.Which date are you cruising?

Kodiak is an easy port to explore on your own, with an excellent and detailed online guide available.

 

We were on the Princess itinerary, with a longer port stop, so rented from Budget downtown, but they don't open until 9am

 

With a shorter port stop would rent with avis at the airport, as they open earlier and did offer free pickup from the ship in previous years. Both companies allowed renters to simply leave the car by the dock with the keys in the glovebox when you were done for the day (saves a lot of time :-)

Thanks to all for the help. At this point, I think that we'll just do a walking tour of the downtown area - it's a really short stop on HAL.
