Deck and Cabin Question for the Allure

Hi! I'm about to book on the Allure for next fall and I had a few questions.

 

It looks like our deck choices are 6, 11, 12, or 14 for the cabins we want. What would you recommend for a family with a 5 year old and an 8 year old and grandparents coming along as well? The kids will be in Adventure Ocean a lot, so it would be nice to have convenient access to drop off/pick up, as well as to the pool. But I've heard Deck 6 and its proximity to the boardwalk, promenade, and other food places is also really convenient. Anyone have any advice on that?

 

Also, we are planning to get adjoining balcony cabins. For the Western itinerary, would you recommend port side or starboard side? I'm leaning towards starboard to be able to view the islands as we dock, but thought I'd ask and see if itinerary makes any difference.
