So glad to hear Tim and Debbie have kept up with the traditional cabin crawl. I also see by the picture that was posted the proper attire was being worn. I just got rid of my cabin crawl capris. Debbie, not sure if I had them for the 06 cruise. I am in search of some very wild pants!! I also promise to keep my shirt lon in the casino while getting my picture taken. Now what about the formal waterslide party??? As far as chocolate melting cake with vanilla ice cream. YUM!!! I will eat it every night!!!! As far as the cabin crawl can you say Run Runners?? (the best way to get booze onboard)

Hi everyone! I guess you could call me a lurker -- I read the boards occassionally, but there are too many for me to keep up with! I am married to Javacruiser (Bill) - so I rely on him for the important stuff! For all those who don't know us, Bill owns/operates his own restaurant (I'll let him elaborate) and I am a RN. We each have 2 kids - his are grown (both married and one with grandboys!) and mine are 11 and 10 (Russell and Katrina). We also have 2 six year old boxers (Clyde and Autumn) and an 11 year old cat, George.

That is all for now...have a great day!

Good morning waiters!

Hey boxermama(Jill)- Glad you stopped in. Lots of chattin going on in here and you will lose track if not reading regularly.

Heather -the traditional cabin crawl is alive and well and I remember your cabin crawl capris. Perfect for cruising and very wild. Keep up with bothering your cruise partner. This cruise will be fun in planning.

itsalljimmysfault(Ann) perfect idea with the Concoction maker. If you have room in your luggage and no weight issues bring it. lol We will stop by your cabin for margaritas if you bring it.:D Those little bullet blenders work well also.

keystonemama(lisa) when we get our official forum set up we will have lots of time for planning things like the crawl!

Lizzzys and tracyanns, we will definately have to stop at Senior Frogs with the group at some point.

Hello everyone else, sounds like others have some great ideas for the cruise.

Good luck with people booking this week!

Billfish, I never saw you with tea! lol but, you always seemed to have some kind of cocktail! lol

Java, I like what you said about being a newbie, this group trys to include everybody! The more the merrier is the motto!

Doug, how are you? and where is Carol? Are you keeping her updated?

Good morning waiters!!!!!!

Beautiful sunshine here in southern, Ontario but apparently some nasty storms heading in for this afternoon, just in time for afternoon rush hour...of course.

I have never cruised out of Fort Lauderdale before if you had to compare it to another FLA port which would it be. I have been out of Miami, Tampa....which is my fav, Jacksonville and Port Canaveral. I will have to say Miami was my least favorite, just way to conjested, I think there was 6 or 8 ships in port when we where there

I am with you Kim, I have never cruised out of Ft Lauderdale. I havn't been back to Miami in awhile. So, many changes last time I was there I did not know the place. Same thing for Tampa, we usally stay at St. Pete when we cruise out of Tampa. Don't know yet, if I/we will fly or drive. I have been to all areas of Florida but have tried to avoid the Miami area. Funny really, considering I grew up there!

Hi Jill,

Nice to meet you.

Good morning waiters!

Doug, how are you? and where is Carol? Are you keeping her updated?

Hey Tim,

I'm good, LURKING as usual. Carol is busy, busy, busy. Maybe I'll twist her arm and make her post. I think I'm caught up for now?

Hi Kim and Annette,

Ft Lauderdale is a great port, very well organized and not congested at all. Very large. I would compare it to a very well laid out airport (like JFK in NY after the construction). I agree, Miami was very congested, Port Canaveral we did once which was ok, and we have never cruised from the other Fl. ports.

Morning everyone!

Weather was frightful last night, tornados and hail around. We were lucky and only received the wind & rain.

Hi Jill -- been keeping up with you on facebook, but good to see you here also :). I've mainly been lurking on FB as well as here.

I'm so looking forward to cruising with this group again, plus all the new ones I missed last year on the Freedom and all the new additions!

I sure hope CC gives our OFFICIAL thread soon!

Better pretend I'm working :o

What is the average age of everyone and where is everyone from...seems like alot from Canada...I used to live in Maine so that was my back yard...

We booked a 4D and a 8K...never had a 8K before but hubby insists on a balcony...and my mom and daughter like the insides...sleep better in the dark and if they want to sit on the balcony they can come to our room...

I would imagine in January we are going to go down the day before, if we can get a decent rate we will stay at the W, my fave hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. We are staying here for our October Oasis cruise too...

I don't do facebook or the other social networking sites so I will have to just chat on here I guess...don't have time at home and can't access them at work. Can't wait til we get out own thread so we can chat over there...do we have to wait for one and can't someone just start one?

when we get our own "room" will it be broken up by subjects? I'm asking because I want to host one of the cabins for the crawl. I'm going to be driving to the port so I can bring just about anything legal ;)

You're right about our 'room'...it will be broken into categories.. not sure what is taking 'the powers that be to set it up so long ? I know Sheila is antsy to get it going .

and Yes, I am sure you will be a crawl host ... so lucky being close enough to drive ...jealous

I just had a BD and am in mid 50.

For the cabin crawl do you have to host to be part of it?

You absolutely can be a part of the Cabin Crawl without hosting. If you do host, you can crawl as well. We will have a thread set up when we get our Official fourm with all of the details. Everyone is encouraged to post suggestions/preferences there. Below is a link from the Rockers Cruise which should pretty much explain it all.

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=957605

Btw, I will be 44 in July and Carol is slightly older.

OK, I'm 50ish & Jill is not...... She's younger than I am.......

But the real reason I'm posting is to see if anyone noticed that we will apparently have a freshly refurbished ship when we sail! There is a 2 week gap in sail dates in mid January and just before us is a 2 day Bahamas sailing....... I assume to test out the upgrades. Now if they start putting the big screen on the Spirit class ships, we may just be able to have a Lido deck Super Bowl party!

Dean would be so excited to see the Superbowl on the big screen on the Lido, so I'll be hoping that's one of the upgrades :) Especially since I received "a look" when he found out we were cruising during the superbowl, again

Dean & I are in our mid-40's. We're both government employees and have worked in the same office together for 18 years. Dean has two children (and one gorgeous granddaughter) from a prior marriage and we have a 16 year old daughter together. She'll be 3 months from graduation when we cruise  We have a black lab and a yellow lab, multiple fish, a turtle and a tortoise. We used to have ferrets, but I became allergic to them :( We live in Garwin, a VERY small town in Iowa.

For our 1st cruise we flew in the same day. I will NEVER do that again. I worry and stress way too much! We're booked in an 8D balcony. We were upgraded to a balcony once and I'll never cruise without one now.
