JUSRN Posted April 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2010 Anyone know of this hotel? We just got this hotel on Priceline for $87/night for 4 rooms for May 6-8 2010. Rated 4 stars. Of course taxes are added on to that for a total of $103/night. Price on web site is $229/night plus taxes which came to $266/night. Sounds like a good price but I know nothing about this hotel. Can anyone help me out? How far from Canada Place? Good restaurants nearby?
Putterdude Posted April 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2010 Stayed there last May, it was completely redone for the Olympics last year and I am sure that you will like it. Her are links to some restaurants, most within about 6 blocks and range from pubs to dinner houses. http://www.aquariva.com/ www.joefortes.ca/ http://www.vancouverdine.com/carderos/home.html http://www.steamworks.com/transcontinental/index.html http://www.kegsteakhouse.com/en/locations/BC/downtown-vancouver/keg-caesars/
Urban trekker Posted April 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2010 It was also one of the hotels that some of the International Olympic Committee brass stayed at during the Games here so it would have to meet some fairly high standards. Try and get rooms facing north - that way you will see the harbour and the ships coming and going. Any hotel room in downtown Vancouver under $100.00 at any time is a great deal. If you can handle your luggage you could walk the 4 - 5 blocks to Canada Place - otherwise it is a short cab ride - About $10.00 to the pier. Three more restaurants close by would be Cactus Club, Joey's Bentall Restaurant and the Elephant and Castle in the historic Marine building. Hope you enjoy your visit to our fine city.
