Casino questions for an NCL Jewel cruiser

Hi everyone. I booked my first NCL Jewel cruise for this summer. This will be our second cruise and first on NCL for 2 adults and 2 kids. My favorite evening time will be spent in the casino. I usually go to Atlantic City 2 or 3 times a year, but since I am going on the cruise I am saving the money so I can use it in the casino onboard.

There are so many new slot machines in Atlantic City casinos that I am itching to play, especially the Lucky Penny Penquin slot machine and the Black Knight or Star Trek. Lucky Penny Penquin looks so cute that plsying it will be real entertaining.

I've read that slot machines on cruise ships are really tight. Are there any slots on NCL jewel thay pay more frequently than others? Are there any slots that have more bonus rounds?

Can anyone that has been on the NCL Jewel recently name a few of the slot machines that they saw in the casino and the machines that they played and were lucky on?

Did they have any slot tournaments on the Jewel? How much did you have to pay to join and what types of prices did they have? I am thinking about joining a slot tournament - it sounds like fun sitting there and playing max bet without using my money for every spin.

How late do the casinos stay open? I have to take turns with the other adult that is going with me since one of the kids is 10 months by the time we cruise and we can't go to the casino together. I'd prefer visiting the casino at night because ther are too many other things to do during the day.

Well good news bad news. We were on the Jewel not long ago and found that although we had good play - there wasn't a specific type of machine that we saw was paying out a lot. We are frequent slot players as well and had 8K+ points each if that tells you anything. So - first definitely join the players club if you aren't automatically enrolled anyway. The Quickhit machines are the best to rack up points and can pay out pretty well. Several times we cashed out over $700.

They did have slot tournaments, and I think they were $20 to join - but I'm not sure as I never entered any of them.

The hours...well I know that one evening the cage closed at 2:30 am or so. Shortly before closing an attendant came over and told us that if we wanted any cage services that we would need to do that soon. We said we were good and asked if they were closing - he said nope, just the cage is closing. We played until 4:30 before cashing out and calling it a night. We had our ticket for the next day...so I'm not sure when they close - I just know that we didn't get kicked out. Hope that helps!

I really do not think you will a machine that is paying better than others. They do through ups and downs based on the computer chip.

Casinos are open very late. Often, even if tables close, the machines will still operate.

Yes, they have slot tournaments. Fun. No big winnings as you are taking the money paid by each person and spreading across about 6 winners. Five are passengers, and the biggest winner is often the casino.

Returned this past Sunday from the Jewel...yes there are three penguin and 3 goldfish in the row as you walk in. Many of the other games are new and fun to play especially toward the back with multiplay machines offering 4 different games for 1c. Saw a large winner several times on the 13 day trip. good luck and say hello to Garrett the Manager from Eileen.

Thank you for the info. Sounds like I will have a good time playing those machines, I just hope I win - that will make it even better.

Does anyone that has been on the Jewel recently have a favorite slot machine that they did pretty good on in the casino -- I mean that they more or less played for a very long time with a small amount of money or that they left the casino with the same amount of money that they had when they first walked in?

What slot machine has the least amount of lines to cover? I like to play max bet, but I don't want to go broke in ten minutes. I like to look for machines that have bonus rounds, but have the same number of pay lines and machines from years ago. Do they still have machines that have only 9 lines?

I'm really glad to hear that they have Lucky Penny Penquin. I saw a demo of this machine and it really looks oh so cute. This can be a very entertaining machine to play just for fun - when I don't have that much and I am looking to have a little fun.

What is your favorite? Can you describe how it works, such as number of lines, number of coins for max bet?
