geordiebing Posted April 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2010 We are going on a cruise around this area in Oct and my partner is a bit worried about the sea state. Can anyone please tell me whether the sea will be calm or rough
kuldalai Posted April 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2010 The South China Sea at that time of the year should be pretty smooth . The time the South China sea can get rough is in Typhoon Season (April to September) . We were up there in March Hong Kong to Japan and it was smooth seas all the way . In anycase the ships have stabilizers these days and so any movement is usually front to back and minimal. The old days of twisting motions side to side and up and down all at the same time are long gone . Tell "hubby" to relax forget about the state of the sea, order another drink and RELAX .
