West Bay beach or Halfmoon bay/west end village

Im going to book a Bodden tour and Im trying to figure out what we want to do. So far we know that some in our group want to zip line and other want to see the monkey and other animals so this works out well but we also want to go to the beach after zipline.

They have West Bay beach and halfmoon bay/ west end village listed. The best of the 2? Pro's and ocn's on these?

Thanks

West Bay is the quintessential beautiful, sweeping white sand beaches with lots of resorts where you can buy a beach chair for the day for about $5. If you just want to swim, snorkel and lay on the beach, it is probably ideal, although probably more crowded on cruise ship days.

West End is (to me) more interesting. There are lots of small restaurants, bars and hotels lining the sand street along the waterfront. However, there is not nearly as much "beach", more docks for scuba/snorkeling trips and water taxis. Depending upon when you arrive, you may want to catch lunch in West End and check it out, then take a water taxi to West Bay for the rest of the day.

Enjoy!

Agree 100% with this post. West End is more interesting and so very picturesque. However, if you are more of a beach person who wants to lounge in the sun or perhaps stay at a resort choose the West Beach option. In reality, you can't loose either way. Both are beautiful

Is there a map showing especially distance between the two and even spots of interest there?

It takes about an hour to walk between West End and West Bay if you walk along the beach. There are a couple of rocky parts, but nothing dangerous. I'm not sure, but to walk along the road I think you have to cut inland and walk along busy highway. If you look at the satellite view on Google Maps, you can see that it's amost entirely beach the whole way. You can also take the water taxi, as mentioned above...much quicker and it's cheap.

To the OP: As far as beaches go, West Bay Beach is by far better than the Half Moon Beach in West End. The road through West End goes right along the beach so there is a lot of road noise, and I found the biting flies to be worse there. However, other posters are right in that West End is a more interesting location than the West Bay Beach area, which is pretty much just beach and resorts. You'll have more drink/food/shopping choices in West End.
