FUNGIRLS Posted April 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2010 We are in San Juan from early morning till about 3 in the afternoon...we are going to do our thing..walk around old town on our own pace...is there an area near the pier that has a map? Also any recommendations for lunch and a good bar with a fun atmosphere for a drink or two before we leave (besides Senor Frogs) Thanks
rainforestgirl Posted April 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2010 Since you are in for a day stop, almost right across from the pier is a Info booth with maps. Also, if you walk down the waterfront street to the left (west) you will find the PR Tourism Company on the corner (just after the free rum drinks at Don Q). They will have info and recommendations there. ps - lots of places of eat and drink- just walk around and read the menus until something catches your fancy (or you get too hungry or thirsty to care!). janabm81 Posted April 29, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2010 I wouldn't even bother with the map unless you want it as a souvinere we found Old San Juan very easy to walk around and I only got turned around once. If you get "lost" just as some one and they can always direct you the way back to the ship or find one of the trolly stops and it'll take you back to the ship eventually and it's free! :)
CptSticky Posted April 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Free trollies go around and around Old Town. Two routes, just read the signs. Old Town goes uphill from the port, so you should always be able to get back to the ship by going down hill. The Fort El Morro is a nice short visit.
