mfboat Posted May 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2010 Has anybody ever purchased ship credit ahead of time through the bon voyage program so that the bill at the end of the cruise is less? Does this really work?
KARTI1955 Posted May 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2010 Has anybody ever purchased ship credit ahead of time through the bon voyage program so that the bill at the end of the cruise is less? Does this really work? Yes it works. There will be a card in your stateroom showing the amount that you have purchased and the credit will be on your account. Just check with the desk to make sure that all is well and save any email confirmations that you get.
stargazertechie Posted May 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2010 My fiance and I actually just did this for our upcoming 5/16 on the Dawn. We purchased $400 in OBC and it should cover our gratuities and our excursion costs and leave us a little bit left over for a drink or two. tjaker11 Posted May 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2010 We always prepay for our cruise this way, last trip on the Dawn we purchased 1000.00 in onboard credit and 1000.00 each in casino chips then settled our account for 23.00 with cash on the last night, fun way to cruise without any surprises at the end

How did you order the OBC? Can you order online or is there a phone number specifically for bon voyage gifts? Do you get an email receipt when you order? Does the OBC show up on your account on the NCL website? Thank You.
KimberleyFL Posted May 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2010 Hi. I have just one more question about purchasing your own OBC. Can you purchase OBC before final payment or do you have to wait until after final payment? Some of you are probably thinking 'why not make payments toward final payment before purchasing OBC?' Because the money for final payment is already set aside but I'm not paying until closer to final payment. Thank You.
mfboat Posted May 1, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted May 1, 2010 From what I can see you print out a form from the website (go to onboard activities and then click on bon voyage gifts), fill it out, and then fax it to the number given. But, my question is, Is it OK to send your credit card number by fax? Is there another way to do it?
tjaker11 Posted May 1, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 1, 2010 Your PCC can handle everything for you, if you booked with a TA still not a problem just call NCL and tell them what you want, make sure you have reservation number and your all set, be sure to ask them to e-mail all your confirmations
Ms belp Posted May 1, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 1, 2010 It works unless a volcano in Iceland screws up all your plans. First time we paid in advance for "all the stuff". Go figure.
antmilant Posted May 1, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 1, 2010 Let say you purchase $1000 OBC and only use $800 will they give you a refund of the cash or a credit for your next cruise? Do they let you use the OBC for the automatic gratuities? Thank You
tjaker11 Posted May 2, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 2, 2010 Just sign for cash at the casino window the day before and take your money out, you can get up to 2000.00 a day on your room card, and if your cruise gets cancelled or you change ships your credits follow you
