Has anyone been to Cahuita national park?

Does the park have any restaurants or place to buy food on it?

Are there bathrooms?

Are there good places to go swimming and snorkel?

What is the black and white sand like?

How far is the park from the pier?

We are looking into going there as well. I have been reading up on it online and it looks beautiful. Any information from anyone that has been there would be great. I am really interested in hiking around there and getting in snorkeling for my husband.

I'm investigating myself because we are heading that way to go to the Jaguar Rescue Center and wanted another nearby attraction. I understand it is about 1 hour from the port in Limon. $40 US each way by cab as told by the people at JRC. Above is a link that will give you some insight into the park-cost, activities, etc.

  • Yes, they have restrooms and showers at the park
  • There is a small fee to get into the park
  • The beach is amazing
  • Snorkeling and swimming are great
  • Several restaurants are in the area that are delicious

She added that it is well worth it to go and you will love it! I hope that helps!

We have decided to go to Cahuita when we are in Costa Rica beginning of June. We are also going to add on a snorkel tour. I will post when we get back on how it is. Sounds like it will be beautiful! I can't wait! :)

  • 3 months later...

I am wondering if you did the Cahuita national Park? I am going to Costa Rica and would like to do a beach. The black and white sand sounds great. I am also wondering if they have a bar and restaurant in walking distance.

Thank you
