Podie Posted May 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2010 For my last cruise, I bought insurance through TravelGuard and luckily I didn't need to use it. Getting ready for my August cruise and checking insurance companies on insuremytrip.com, I see there are several companies that offer pretty much the same insurance but their prices are less than TravelGuard. Are they supposed to be the best, or should I take a chance and buy a cheaper policy with the same coverage through a different company?
Fblack Posted May 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2010 I have used CSA for all my cruises. I had a small claim two years ago and they paid within 2 weeks. They are not the cheapest either.
eandj Posted May 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2010 If you have indeed found a policy with the EXACT coverage, look at their rating first. Then talk to a rep at insuremytrip and they will explain any differences. We have used Travel Guard often. For our fall river cruise, we are choosing a policy that costs less but we know where the differences are.
Rare MVPinBoynton Posted May 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2010 I always go through insuremytrip.com. They provide a great service allowing you to easily compare the cost and coverage. As eandj said, you can call them with questions. They are very helpful.
