Yukon Posted May 3, 2010 #26 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Had it happen at lunch today in a local restaurant when someone asked me what something was on the menu. A Texas dish I can't discuss in polite company. I didn't offer advice. Oh come on, everyone needs to try Rocky Mountain Oysters (or do you call them Calf Fries?) at least once :D In that vein, I often suggest a scrimshaw oosik for a unique Alaskan art-piece! PennyAgain Posted May 4, 2010 #27 Share Posted May 4, 2010 Yukon! Polite company please! In Texas they are calf fries. I have never run into anything similar in Alaska. Although I am willing to admit that we never wasted any part of an animal that Mother could manage one way or another to stew, boil, fry or roast.
