Adventure Girl Posted June 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2004 I know that you need to be on a 7-night sailing to have an "official" meet & mingle, but I am hoping to connect with others sailing on the Voyager of the Seas during the week of Sept 5th - 10th, 2004. I've looked on the meet & mingle message boards and cannot find a thread for this week on the Voyager. Please reply if you are sailing with me...would love to arrange an "unofficial" meet & mingle with other folks. Crusing Girls Posted June 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2004 Hi Kimberly, I will be sailing on Voyager on Sept 5th,with my two sisters. Booked a Junior Suite on deck 9.I was on the Serenade sailing last Sept.to Canada.Had a great time.In fact this is my third cruise to Canada.I love leaving from the N.Y./N.J. ports. I also just returned from the 11 night Serenade cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver. We had a wonderful time loved my Aft cabin. However I was very disappointed with the food in the Main Dining Room.It was poor on most nights. We ate three times in the speciality restaurants. One night we went to a Luau in Maui. Also the entertainment was not the best.I was bored most nights with the lack of activities available.I am so close to cancelling this cruise. But I don't want to spoil our "sisters"vacation.I keep hoping RCCL will get better.I am going to give them one more try. The Meet&Mingle on the Serenade was well attended.Maybe we can get a Roll Call going.I am looking foward to meeting you on Voyager.
Adventure Girl Posted June 6, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 6, 2004 Hi Cruising Girls: Thanks so much for your reply. I'm glad hear from you. Also happy to hear that you have sailed this itinerary before and have enjoyed it. I was getting a little worried reading all of the negative comments about the Canada sailing on the Voyager. I can't believe things can be as bad as they sound. I too have considered canceling this cruise, but I figure how bad can it really be? It is still a cruise ship vacation, and in my mind that is the best kind of vacation in the world. Besides, having an open mind and a willingness to have fun no matter what makes all of the difference in the world. Once the boards are fixed I'll put up a roll call on the meet and mingle forum. I'm sailing on the Voyager with my mother and my two sons, (ages 7 & 8). We have an inside cabin on deck 9. I do a "girls cruise" every year with my sister and several girlfriends. We are sailing the Mariner in November and I have a junior suite booked on that ship. Keep in touch. Looking forward to meeting on the Voyager. bill&marti Posted June 9, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Marti & I will also be on this cruise. I've been watching the meet & mingle board for weeks to see if anyone had started a roll call. Thanks for posting. This is our 1st cruise to Canada - we like to stick to tropical waters. Never having been on a Voyager-class ship, this trip was ideal. See you in September, Bill
bill&marti Posted June 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2004 Cruising Girls - We just returned from a 7 night cruise on the Serenade out of San Juan. Had a wonderful time but never ate in the main dining room. Reading your comments - I'm glad we didn't. Portofino & Chops were the best. The Schooner bar has always been our favorite on RCCL ships. Molly, Alex, and Troy kept us entertained most nights on the Serenade. We had a balcony cabin on deck 7 and really loved it. On the Voyager we've booked an aft corner balcony that looks even bigger than the last one. Less than 3 months to go. Can't wait to meet aboard the Voyager. Adventure Girl Posted June 13, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Hi Bill&Marti: Glad to hear from you. Please check the Meet & Mingle forums...I have a roll call started there. This is my first Canada cruise as well. I too prefer the Caribbean, but thought I would give this one a try. I'll look for you over on the Meet & Mingle boards.
