shevon020 Posted May 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2010 How much can be done in Nassua if you have to be back on the ship by 1:30 p.m.? I don't think that's enough time to do some of the excursions. The last time I was in Nassua I did the Atlantis AquaAdventure and we were there until late afternoon. I'm hoping they change this itinerary, because this seems like a wasted day. Also is it because this is on a Sunday?
Hobiecat01 Posted May 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2010 Yes, time will be tight, but we found everything open even on Sunday on our 4/17 Oasis cruise on the same itinerary. --------------------------- Sea ya! nydoll1 Posted May 6, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2010 We did the sea lion excursion at Blue Lagoon, they opened on Sunday just for Oasis and it was fabulous. After had a little time to sit on the beach, go in the water, shop at the gift shop. Perfect excursion; I have been told you can view it on YouTube if you put in Blue Lagoon Nassau. I have done Atlantis as a vacation and agree between the short time and the long lines it will not be worth it.
Nado44 Posted May 7, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2010 We are traveling with my two elderly parents on the 5/8 sailing of the Oasis. Given the limited time in Nassau on Sunday, what would you recommend that we do from say 930-130. (No one's an early riser)
Walt fan Posted May 7, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2010 Hobiecat01; Do you remember what time they let everyone disembark at Nassau and what times things seemed open? We are going to Atlantis Aquaventure even though everyone says we are not going to have enough time. All 3 of my teenagers BEGGGGGGED to do this. Hopefully, we can cram enough in during this very short port.
shevon020 Posted May 7, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted May 7, 2010 I did the Aqua Adventure through Norwegian, and we were off the ship by 9am and back by 4. So it takes time, because you have to take a small boat to Atlantis, plus they did a tour of the hotel/casino. Then we stood in a long line for lockers. As we were leaving we toured the undergroung Aquarium. So it takes a while to do all of that. We ended up taking a taxi back to the ship, because it was quicker. If you go to the RCCL website, they give descriptions of the excursions and the allotted time.

I would call the Atlantis, everytime we have been there the Aquaventure doesn't even open until around 10ish...and you will have to leave their by 1:00...we have done this SEVERAL times and I love it...just make sure you do the slides you REALLY want to do first and save the rest for the end...alos, take a cab, it is $4 per person and it should be faster for you. DO NOT miss the LAZY river, it is far from lazy and as cool as it is that you don't have to get out of the river to do the tube rides, you can just go all the way around and take the conveyor belt up, if you get out at the Power Tower and take the stairs and walk up instead of taking the conveyor belt you will save atleast 15-20 minutes each time. Also, DO NOT miss ALL the way at the top of the Power Tower, the body slide...looks like you are stepping into a coffin...pitch black...it is TERRIFYING but afterwards it is by far the COOLEST ride there. SOOO glad to hear that you liked it and they opened things up for the ship because this is the excursion we booked and I can't wait. Did you buy all the pictures and video? Were the Sea Lions as cute and they look? :D
tracyanns Posted May 7, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 7, 2010 We did the Sea Lions once and it was fun. They are so cute and they are VERY personable...but they are big and a little scary at first. I had only wished we could have had more personal interaction with them, such as an upgrade, like you can with the dolphins. Blue Lagoon is beautiful and you will enjoy your self there. GJM Posted May 7, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 7, 2010 This is the excursion we want to do with the sea lions, but is booked on line. I am hoping they have some spots open on the ship.
tracyanns Posted May 7, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 7, 2010 Try calling them directly, this always sells out as far as I know but they may have some open if you book directly with the facility.
GJM Posted May 7, 2010 #13 Share Posted May 7, 2010 I wish I could book directly with Blue Lagoon - but they are closed on Sun.
nydoll1 Posted May 8, 2010 #14 Share Posted May 8, 2010 The whole experience was fabulous. They do a talk on the sea lions, explain all about them, differences between them and seals, etc. and then get you ready for the tank, which in March was a bit chilly, take the wetsuit! You go in in small groups with your trainer and then meet your lion. I saw a poster said they wished they had more close time, we had tons. Pet him, fed him, got kissed on the lips for the photo (so not kidding) and then did tricks with him. My kids, 11 and 12 loved it, my DH and I loved it too. We have done dophins at Discovery Cove, liked this more. Way cool..
tmoret Posted May 8, 2010 #15 Share Posted May 8, 2010 last week we just went to the shopping area. I took some photos and we walked around. We have been there before and were of with just doing that for a few hours.
Cruising89143 Posted May 8, 2010 #16 Share Posted May 8, 2010 We just plan to get off the ship around 9 or 10 to walk around town and then grab lunch at the Hard Rock and then back on the ship. I hate this early morning itinerary. The call back in January was much better. We arrived around noon and left at seven.
