Molokini and Sunrise at Haleakala - Possible?

Ship docks at 8:00 am - trouble is it seems all Molokini trips leave at 7:00 or 8:00 - there are afternoon trips - but I hear they often do not make to Molokini due to rough water. That makes day 2 the only option - which is also the only day we can do the sunrise trip.

Has anyone done an aftrnoon Molokini trip???

We went out with Blue Water Rafting. They left at 11:30. The raft is small and manuverable so if the water is to rough inside the crater they can swing around to the back wall and snorkel there. I greatly enjoyed my time with them and wouldn't hesitate going out with them again.

This is a picture of the boat. They have some great videos at their web site.
