Summergee Posted May 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2010 Can anyone tell me what time you actually left Southampton and why you were delayed? We came down to Hythe to see 4 ships leave and went home at 1715 with QM2 still tied up. The ships saluting each other was amusing. At least QM2 got the last whistle in each time? Solent AIS is now showing QM2 just north of Cowes and making her turn to head east about round the IOW for the Nab Tower pilot station. The other three ships are now well south of the IOW with Ventura leading the pack, Independence of the Seas next and Oceana bringing up the rear. No indication of the reason for QM2's delayed sailing. J
Cornus Posted May 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2010 I'm on board now...the Commodore announced yesterday that sailing would be delayed until 5:30 due to missing passengers. Don't know the reason...maybe due to the chunnel closing and that may have delayed them:confused: ? Shortly after we left the pier [couldn't have gone more than a mile], the Commodore announced that we had to return to the pier to let off an ill passenger. This was done and we were on our way again @7:00.
