Hotel Bauer Venice

I stayed at the regular Bauer and not the Palazzo. It was fine and a nice hotel. However, I've been able to stay at 20+ hotels in Venice over the past 20 years, and this is not one of my favorites. While it is grand, the experience is not personal. I like boutique hotels better, so my favorites are the Metropole and the Locando Orseola. But if you like a large hotel, the Hilton Molino Stucky is not as conveniently located but is nicer in my experience.

Happy travels,

Donna

We stayed at the Bauer in 2007 and enjoyed it very much. It was our second visit there and we found the service as nice and as friendly as the first time.

It is extremely close to St. Mark's Square...a five minute walk. In my opinion the Hilton is very inconvenient for a first time visitor to Venice.

We stayed there in 2007..the "older section". I booked through AMEX and they upgraded us to an apt style room. It was great. Location was spectacular. Everyone was extremely friendly at the hotel. My only gripe was with concierge...just be careful if you book things through them...watch what they charge you. Having said that, overall the hotel was excellent, service was great, location cant be beat and the room was very nice. I would definetly recommend and stay there again.
