dac61 Posted May 20, 2010 #26 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Coconut rum tastes good with most juices- I like mine with pineapple and cranberry. Very appropriate for cruising and not too strong. :) Do they sell coconut rum through BV?

jeshghn Posted May 20, 2010 #28 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Enjoy your cruise, you certainly deserve the holiday! All of the above suggestions sound great, I'll vote for coconut rum option or what about Bailey's (or whatever the brand they sell). It's great in the morning in your tea or coffee and a perfect way to end your night over ice while looking at the stars on your balcony! I am not a big drinker also, and don’t bother with buying a bottle from BV as I prefer wine at dinner (buy it by the bottle and your waiter will save it for the next night or nights, much cheaper) and in the day while on the ship I’ll do a drink of the day or a blender drink. Definitely treat yourself to a Miami Vice, which is half daiquiri and pina colada! It's the first thing I get when I walk on! Question: Do you have to pay for the mix? After the cost of the bottle and then the mix, will it be cheaper then buying a few individual drinks?
cherbear4000 Posted May 20, 2010 #29 Share Posted May 20, 2010 The free lemonade is great with vodka. Also the unlimited soda card also includes juice at the bar. (tomato, oj, pineapple, cranberry). I think I'm going to buy a bottle of vodka from BV and then buy a couple of bottles of other liquor in port. I'm usually able to carry it on the ship no problem. I usually get the soda card anyways cause i drink a lot of coke, so its nice to also have a variety of juices to use as mixers. I personally would not buy the Malibu rum from BV. The price mark up on it is way too high. Malibu is a lower proof alcohol and it normally costs about $20.

conchead Posted May 20, 2010 #31 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Seabreeze - vodka, cranberry and grapefruit juicesBaybreeze - vodka, cranberry and pineapple juices I think vodka is the universal liquor. It doesn't have a taste of it's own so can pretty much be mixed with anything. Since it sounds like you don't drink much, I think this would be ideal, and then you can try different combos based on your mood and what mixers are available at the time (oj at breakfast for screwdrivers, cranberry from room service for cape cods, sprite on the lido for something more fruity, redbull in the casino, etc.) It good with tomato juice too;)
