D2 or D7 Cabin

Is there any difference between D2 and D7 inside cabins other than which deck they are on? Are they the same interior as to size and niceness? Looking forward to our first sailing and hope to book soon. Thanks, Kelly

You are correct with your descriptions. They are all modular and quite adequate without spoiling you with luxury. lol

As far as I know:

D2 and D7 are identical on QM2 in terms of size. Their only difference is location - D2 are on higher decks.

D2 and D7 are different on Queen Victoria in both terms of location and size. While D7 are on Deck 4, D2 cabins are lower, on Deck 1 - which allows for less pitching and rolling... They are also larger/more spacious and have a nice sofa.

How about a D3 on deck 8, allocated on a D8 guarantee basis...?

Dear Annette,

Again, as far as I know:):

The size of these cabins is approximately the same. The general layout may vary. Some of the D3 at the stern are identical to a D8, but the rest differ a bit.

The advantage of a D3 cabin is certainly its closer proximity to Decks 9 or 10. Depending on your cabin location, fore or aft, you can have quick access to the casual Lido restaurant, the cute Winter Garden, the magnificent panoramic Commodore Club (the best lounge on board for many), the Disco, the Spa or the pools.

Generally, a nice upgrade. Many people regard booking a guarantee cabin as the best way to have complimentary upgrades.

Thanks for your help, this one is located aft, which ISTR wasn't always a good location on QE2 but I realise QV is a very different ship! :D
