Tux Rental

Ok, I've convinced my 3 children that it would make me really happy if the girls were in gowns and I rent a tux for my son. My question is- what does a tux rental cost? We are cruising on RCCL in July. We have 2 formal nights for a 12 night cruise

RCI has their own tux rental and it has two packages for either $89 or $99. I have used this service on my last cruise and it was great. The tux was waiting in the closet when I arrived. It is a little pricey but I didn't have to buy it, clean it, or carry it. It also freed up a lot of space in my luggage for other things.

Check with any local places too, although one that I have used before wanted to charge a premium for a cruise as it was considered a long term rental, as opposed to just having it for the weekend. That cruise I ended up with something different for formal night, but this time around I do not have the other option.

Try e-bay.

You can often find boy's sizes at price equal to or less than rental.

Resell after wards or donate and take the tax write-off.

We've rented on the cruise and it turned out great...the boys even got to pick what vest and tie they wanted....on the other hand I do like David V's idea of ebay and then reselling it...might be more cost efficant, on the other hand then you'd have to pack it and what not. I guess I'm back to voting for the rent on the ship option. :)
