Interesting but not surprising. When you have something the size of a ship that burns fuel accordingly, then these sort of innovations usually pay for themselves quickly in reduced operating cost and increased profits. The earlier generation Azipods certainly did give some trouble in some installations, but hopefully those issues have been resolved. I haven't heard about pod issues in the S so far.

It seems the Azipod technology is maturing so that it is indeed reliable and cost effective. Perhaps Celebrity began using the Azipod technology on its M class ships before it was a mature technolgy.
