internet and cell phones in Bahamas

we are on the 4 day cruise with NCL Sky - wondering if Verizon cell phones have service in the Bahamas, and also if there are any internet cafes near where the ship docks?

I actually just got off the phone with Verizon. It's $1.99/min for talk, .50 for outgoing texts, .05 for incoming texts and .02/KB for data. You'll need to call customer service in order to activate your international calling. Of course all of this is only if you have a compatible phone.

 

One call answered all of my questions, including the cost for cell service on the ship.

It's .20/kb ($20/MB) unless you sign up for a global data plan. If you sign up for a plan(i.e.$30 for 50mb), then the overage is .02/Kb ($2/mb) . Can be very pricy.

Don't rely on Verizon.. most people do not get service in the bahamas with Verizon phones.

 

T-mobile or ATT work here. But intermittenly. Even my local cell phone gets iffy service, too many dead spots and service interuptions.
