wendyazure Posted May 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2010 Hi, Our ship will dock at a port in St Maarten from 10am to 6pm. We booked shore excursion (kayaking) from 10:15 to 1:45pm. What to do in left 4 hours? Anyone can provide any suggestions? Many thanks! because we will take off tomorrow. we are kept busy recently that even can not spare much time to do a good research. Any quick reply will really help us. Thanks again!
international Posted May 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2010 we walked from the ship into town, and strolled along the boardwalk where many people rented beach chairs and umbrellas on the sand; we went into some shops for post cards, t-shirts, jewelry, etc. Have a great trip! Karysa Posted May 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2010 You could have a nice lunch at Chesterfields which is a short walk between the ship and town. Or you could walk down to one of the restaurants on the boardwalk, and do some shopping or you could take a short taxi to Little Bay and enjoy a swim there. There is a beach at the boardwalk in town but there has been much discussion regarding the safety of the water so we don't go swimming at Great Bay Beach. Karysa Posted May 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2010 If your kayak trip is in Simpson Bay or the Simpson Bay Lagoon you are a short cab ride over to Maho Beach where the airplanes fly right over the beach. You might want to take a taxi over to Maho, grab lunch and see the planes land and go for a swim before heading back to town or to the ship.
