Snorkle By Boat - Half Moon Cay

I have been to HMC many times and I have snorkeled at many other islands, but never tried the "snorkle by boat" at HMC. If you have, please let me know if you liked it and saw a good variety of fish and coral. Thanks

Have not snorkeled by boat but found a great place to snorkel at HMC that is not part of main beach but is only 5 minutes from tender dock but not supervised by HAL. Last Dec 09 I saw stingrays, nurse sharks and many tropical fish

Once you get off the tender and just before you enter HMC through the arches take a right and head towards a small house. You will see two foot paths, asphalt path to the left and sandy path to the right. Take the sandy path up a small hill approx 30 feet to the top. When you get to the top you will see a beach 500 feet long. This beach is not supervised by HAL and is rocky. I have snorkeled at this beach three times and have always seen many fish.

Since the water is a little rough you need to be a moderate or experienced snorkler. You can enter the water near the jetty where there is a sandy bottom, swim out 30 feet and swim parallel to the beach between the sandy bottom on right & rocks on left.
