What to do after zip lining in PV?

We're a family of 3 with a 7-year old on our first cruise. We're going to be zip lining in PV, but we're trying to figure out what to do after the zip lining tour. We're thinking about heading over to Sea Life Park for the water park, but we're not sure if we have enough time. Our other option is just to walk around and do some small shopping.

Two questions...

1. Is there enough time to play in the Sea Life Park water park after the zip lining?

2. What do most of you do with your families in PV?

Hard to judge since you have not defined time frame you will be in PV.

We did a early Canopy Tour (5.5 hr) and were back at 2 pm then went on the Ry of the Night tour till 9 pm. The ship sailed at 10 pm.

Depending what Canopytour you book, you can spend the afternoon around The Malecon and/or Playa Los Muertos.

Plenty of shops, restaurants, some very nice statues, the old church etc. Those restaurants on Playa los Muertos (Zona Romantica) are right on the beach.

We enjoyed walking the cobblestone streets of Old Vallarta, lots of shops......bought some souvenirs, visited the old Cathedral. When we got hot and tired we grabbed a cab back to the ship.

We led a group to Los Veranos in '07. Loved it! Also, I spend much time in the area as a kid.

I think there's an age or weight limit for Los Veranos. You might want to look into that if you plan on bringing children.

As far as what to do afterward, there's plenty. I have always enjoyed the riverwalk aong Rio Cuale. It's not far from the downtown Los Veranos office. You can walk there. Just walk a few blocks north from the office. Better look at a map first. If you are on the bus that brings you back to the ship (Some say that they won't bring you back to the ship anymore. I guess it depends on prior arrangements you make with the office), ask the driver to drop you off at the bridge over the river. Next to the (Northbound) vehicle bridge there's a great open air market. We used to shop there as kids. Next go down the stairs under the bridge. It's cool and shady and there are art vendors that have some nice things (read expensive). You can take this all the way to the beach. The swimming and beach are not great but it's a nice walk. You can also walk back up on the other side of the river even further than the bridges. (20 years ago there was a rope suspension bridge across the gorge that we used to use) From near the beach you can walk along the cobblestone road north toward the malecon (boardwalk). There's a nice Fruteria (like a malt shop)that used to be there near the river. You can go inside and point to the fruit baskets on the wall to pick your fruit and then pick your ingredients (ex. milk, malt, protein powder, ice, etc.) You can the shop along the malecon as you walk. There's an interesting catherdal on the hill up above you. (It's the one in all the brochures) You can catch a short cab ride back to the ship when you get tired. It's maybe 20-30 min depending on traffic.

Have a great time.

PS When you get to the beach, be warned, that if you turn left and head south for a little while you will get to a beach for cross dressers and the like (anyway, it still was that way a couple of years ago)
