jessie073 Posted February 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2005 Hear great things about both of these activities - can anyone tell me more about either of them. I will be in Montego Bay on the CP in June. Thanks.
Love Cruisin Posted February 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2005 We can attest to YS Fall, but not Mayfield Falls. We were in MoBay in 03 and went on a tour with Barrett Adventures. Carolyn picked us up from the port early and took the 2.5 hr. drive through the countryside of Jamaica. It was beautiful and you get to see the back country and native folk. We stopped along the way and got to eat fresh pineapple cut just for us. It was the sweetest, best tasting pineapple I've ever had. YS Falls had a total of 20 people there and got to swing into the kinda chilly water on ropes. Some guys were there assist us and even took us swimming to get a natural massage under the falls. Carolyn's husband (Errol) was very informative and friendly, we felt very safe. Got to eat in a restuarant with authentic Jamaican food, it was excellent. Happy Tubing Shelly When we were there in 03 they weren't tubing, but that sound like a great idea.
marly Posted February 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2005 We had booked YS Falls with Carolyn, but no one every showed to pick us up and we couldn't reach them by phone. A tour guide from Mayfield Falls was there and his passengers didn't show, so he was happy to take us. The drive to the falls was very interesting, and we had a great time climbing the waterfall. When I got home, there was an e-mail with an apology from Carolyn. She offered to give us the tour for free the next time we're in Jamaica (which will be Sept.) I just may hold her to that! jessie073 Posted February 22, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted February 22, 2005 Thank you both for all the great info. We ended up booking a tour to mayfield Falls with Trevor Hudlin. Marly - when you said the ride to mayfield Falls was interesting... what made it interesting... picturesque? How was the water at the falls for swimming - clean and clear? Thanks :)
