Hi guys - I have been told that you can take one bottle of wine or bubbles per person onboard to celebrate sailaway. Does anyone know the truth in this??

Also - bring back the colourful streamers while departing!

Welcome deano to cruise critic....

The taking on wine thing depends on what ship you are going on if you going on a P and O cruise like (eg pacific dawn, pacific jewel or pacific, sun)

there answer is no you cannot but if you go on any of the princess lines you can.

We took a dozen onboard Holland America. They don't care at all how many you bring on.

Hic! More great news...makes you wonder why when the prices are pretty much the same (Princess and HAL) why the different rules.

Can you remember how much the corkage was on HAL?

The corkage was expensive. $25 or $30 US I think but we had a fridge and mainly drank in our cabin on the verandah.
