CruisinMermaid Posted June 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2010 My family and I are planning to do a snorkeling excursion through the cruiseline at Horseshoe Reef this October. My husband and I have been snorkeling before in other parts of the world but this will be the first time for my two young children (ages 5 and 9). I'm wondering if anyone's had experience snorkeling there during that time of year? How's the water temperature? Was it too cold?
Mary Ellen1 Posted June 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2010 I snorkeled at GT last November, and the water was fine. Really nice.
CruisinMermaid Posted June 2, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted June 2, 2010 That's good to know. We're really excited about this trip because it will be the first time my kids are going snorkeling. :)
topspot Posted June 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2010 Crusinmermaid, if your children have never snorkeled, get them a snorkel and mask they can use in a pool this summer. If they are very comfortable with the snorkel, it will help them enjoy the scenery even more. No leaky mask + comfortable with snorkel = less whining and more fun when snorkeling. (I know because I was the whiner, not DD)
