Casino questions

Yes, there is a casino. They have a bunch of slot machines, roulette, a couple of black jack tables and another table (it might have been poker... not sure). It was not busy when we were there. There was one guy who was there constantly, otherwise, there were no regulars. It is only open when you are NOT at port, and since Windstar leaves port later than some ships, it isn't open often.

It's really nothing at all like the casinos on board a mega ship and is, IMO, really there only because most who cruise expect it. It seldom gets enough action to attract any crowds.

The casino runs nightly "special promotions" such as face-up black jack (with different rules, such as a tie means the dealer wins). It is on a corner of the main lounge, perhaps 1/6 of the total lounge floor space. I would recommend a different ship if gambling is important to you, though, as it is an afterthought on Windstar. I did see a couple of people win "jackpots" of $200 or so on the slots. Basically, the same dozen people showed up every night. You will find on the Windsurf all the major table game except craps and traditional poker.
