Atlantis submarine

We did the Atlantis in St. Thomas after my Uncle raved about it. I have to admit I was a little disappointed. If you're a diver or an avid snorkeler, it's probably not worth the money. But, if you don't spend a lot of time under water, you're going to love it. Either way, I hope you have fun.

My husband and I did the Atlantis Sub in Barbados back in 2000.

They take you by boat out from shore. Shortly thereafter the sub comes to the surface for boarding. We were a bit nervouse at this point. The sub looks soemthing like a giant hot dog. I cannot remember how many it sat but the views were great nomatter where you took your seat. Everyone has there own very large porthole to look out from...you sit back to back with the porthole a foot in front of you. There is emergency oxygen tanks and such located under your seat. At both ends of the sub are altimeters so you can see exactly how deap you are at all times. I was a bit nervous as we first started our decent...It darker the deaper you go...then suddenly as you near the bottom it gets light again...the sun reflects off the bottom. At 150ft we could see at least 100 ft. It was Awesome! Fish everywhere...they feed them somehow. A ship wreck in the distance and a large wall. Well worth it!
