cpygrl Posted June 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2010 I guess I've lived a sheltered life - I've never been in a cab before. So my question is - how hard is it to get a cab in Freeport? I'm thinking about going to Our Lucaya and it sounds like a cab is the best way to get there. Are the cabs ready and waiting at the dock or do you have to seek them out? Thanks! marym933 Posted June 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2010 Yes, the cabs are waiting in Freeport. There is a pier in Freeport with shops. The cabs will be waiting when you get off the ship. It has been a few years since I have been there, but I think we paid $5 pp each way for Our Lucaya. You can get a cab back to the pier at the Our Lucaya resort. You'll love the beach there. The color of the water is so blue and the sand is soft and bright white! Have fun!

kg03or Posted June 8, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2010 Taking a taxi in Freeport isn't actually like taking a taxi in the US or Canada. They're actually vans and there is someone there directing people into the taxis so unless you're a larger group you'll likely be travelling to Our Lucaya with several other people which you may not know (but all likely fellow cruise ship passengers as there's not much else in the immediate area). It seemed to be very well organized with someone directing people to keep things orderly. We also enjoyed Our Lucaya!
