Rare astridwilson Posted June 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2010 My Mom and I will have one day in Freeport on Carnival Fantasy cruise in July. I want to snorkel, and I want to go somewhere with a nice beach that my mom could relax that offers a chair and an umbrella. Suggestions??
kg03or Posted June 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2010 Google Pat and Diane's snorkeling, they have some options that might accomodate both of your wishes at the same time. We did just the snorkeling with them and enjoyed it thoroughly! If I remember correctly they have another tour where you go to a secluded island where you can either enjoy the beach and/or snorkel. Or you could just go to Our Lucaya and use the resorts there - minimal charge for chairs from what I understand. I assume you don't want to leave your mom alone so you could snorkel off the beach (not sure how great it is but saw people do it). Or if your mom is willing and able she could come with you on a snorkeling excursion and just not snorkel if she doesn't want to and enjoy the time on the water. With Pat and Diane's it was about an hour in the water and the boat was shaded for those who stayed on board. And then both of you could go enjoy the resorts when you get back - we got back with plenty of time to walk around Our Lucaya but could have sat on the beach. family cruisers Posted June 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2010 We're huge fans of Freeport and Our Lucaya resorts. $20.00 p/person you can use the hotel pools, towels and beach/ beach chairs. You can snorkel, they even have jet skis on the right of the hotel property if you'd like. Your Mom can enjoy the pool or beach to relax , hop across the street and do some shopping or even visit the casino . It's all right there. You won't loose each other. Have fun.
